About Julgran.com

Since 2002, Julgran.com has been delivering Christmas trees to businesses, condominium associations, and private individuals in Stockholm. Businesses have the option to “lease” an indoor Christmas tree from us. We assist with setting up the tree, including lights and ornaments, using our own tree stand. When you’re ready to remove the tree, simply send us an email, and we will collect it within 24 hours. For condominium associations wishing to “lease” a tree for their courtyard, we offer a similar service: we set up the tree with lights for the first Advent and take it down during weeks 3 and 4. We deliver trees up to 12 meters tall; just keep in mind that you need a ground base to secure the tree.

Private individuals who want a first-quality tree delivered to their door can place an order with us in less than a minute. We also offer one of Stockholm’s largest selections of Christmas trees at our Christmas tree market in Hägersten (Personnevägen 103), which is open every day from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

An Idea is Born

In the fall of 2002, three students from Stockholm University started this project. We wanted to sell Christmas trees as an additional source of income alongside our studies. During our first year of sales, a property owner asked if we could deliver trees to the stairwells in some of his buildings. The property owner had placed tree stands in the entrances, so all we had to do was deliver and set up the trees. And so we did. We soon realized that property owners and managers see having a Christmas tree in the building as a given, but they prefer to delegate all the work involved. Since then, we have offered our business customers the option of having a Christmas tree without doing any of the work themselves. We deliver and decorate the tree before Christmas, and take it down and remove it after the holidays. Customers rent the tree stand, lights, and decorations from us.

Size Matters

A 2-3 meter tree is perfect for living rooms, stairwells, and entrances. However, it can look quite small on a square or in a courtyard. This led us to start offering larger trees for public spaces. Since we were already handling all aspects of tree care, it was a natural progression. The only difference is that setting up and decorating a 12-meter tree requires a crane truck—definitely not something you can carry under your arm! Every year, our trees adorn squares and courtyards across Greater Stockholm.

Lessons Learned

A traditional Norway spruce sheds its needles as a defense mechanism when it’s not doing well. For customers who may not have a green thumb, we strongly recommend the Nordmann fir. Over the years, we’ve also received many tips on Christmas tree care—some excellent, others more questionable. Few plants have as many homemade care tips as the Christmas tree. Around Christmas, self-proclaimed “tree experts” often appear on radio, TV, and in newspapers. Some suggest adding a sugar cube to the water for the cellulose, while others claim sugar clogs the tree’s pores, causing it to die. We refrain from advising our customers to add sugar, aspirin, or other items that are not typically beneficial to plant growth. Locally Grown and Affordable

We believe we are the only ones offering locally produced, naturally grown Christmas trees in Stockholm. We planted our first seedlings almost 10 years ago at our Christmas tree farm in Mölnbo. Our goal is for our trees to be competitively priced with those of our competitors. We also want to be close to our customers. You can come and see our trees at our Christmas tree market near Hägerstensbadet. It opens the week before the first Advent and is open from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Property managers and condominium associations can also purchase trees on invoice here.

The Christmas Market at Hägerstensbadet is located on the right side along Södertäljevägen at the exit to Västertorp/Fruängen and Ävsjö.
