Naturally Grown Christmas Trees
At our tree farm in Sörmland, we do not use artificial fertilizers or chemical pesticides. We exclusively grow classic spruce (Picea abies) here. Our philosophy is to cultivate soil with high microbiological activity and provide living flower meadows for bees and butterflies.
Our Nordmann firs (Abies nordmanniana) are sourced from Småland, and while we aim to avoid chemical pesticides, we cannot guarantee this due to two reasons:
1. Nordmann firs are much more sensitive than traditional spruces to pests, fungal diseases, and other issues, which may require the use of pesticides.
2. The traceability is not sufficient. We have full control over our own cultivation practices 365 days a year, but we do not have the same level of insight into our suppliers’ practices.
Therefore, we have chosen to collaborate with other Christmas tree growers who, like us, place a strong emphasis on sustainability, environmental care, and quality.
If you have any questions about our environmental policy or suggestions on how we can improve it, please feel free to email us at info@julgran.com.
– What Do You Do with Your Tree After Christmas?
If you need help disposing of your tree, we offer a pickup service for a fee of 300 SEK. Simply leave the tree outside your building entrance, and we will collect it on the date of your choice. The tree is then taken to the nearest heating plant and converted into district heating. Convenient for you and good for the environment.
