Environmental policy and traceability

At our tree farm, we do not use pesticides or artificial fertilizers. We strive to power all motorized tools and machinery with alkylate petrol. Since 2021, we have also implemented a phase-out plan to replace combustion engine tools with electric ones.

Organic Farming

Since we began cultivating trees, we have met all the requirements for organic farming, and our Christmas tree farm in Mölnbo is organically certified by the Swedish Board of Agriculture. View our organic farming certificate.

We also work to ensure that all our partners, couriers, and suppliers share our environmental philosophy and take responsibility for sustainable practices.

Artificial Trees in Our Range

As of this year (2022), we offer artificial trees in our product range. For many years, we have debated our stance on artificial trees. Some studies suggest that, from a sustainability perspective, an artificial tree has a lesser negative impact on the climate, provided the consumer uses the same tree for 16 years or more. Therefore, we have selected a high-quality line of artificial trees, with the intention that customers will only need to purchase one tree to keep for a lifetime.

Recycling

The live Christmas trees we help our customers recycle are taken to the nearest recycling center or energy plant, where they are converted into energy and district heating.

In years when we have unsold trees left on Christmas Eve, we offer to donate them to 4H farms, stables, Skansen, and other organizations with animals that might enjoy the trees.

We Can’t Do Everything, But We Can Do Something

Every year, together with Långholmen Swimrun, we donate 10,000 SEK to WWF. Although we are not certain for how many years we have been doing this, we estimate that by 2021, we have donated around 100,000 SEK to WWF.
